Deer (haiku)

Nature’s swift bounty,
Dance amongst the Autumn leaves,
Drifts to become free.

Fallen leaves turn brown,
Returning to the ash tree,
Bundled within mounds.

Line 1 – The deer jumping in front of my car.
Line 2 –  Describes the deer contorting and twisting in the air after being hit.
Line 3 – The soul drifts free from it’s body.
Line 4 – The deer’s body will break down in tandem with the environment.
Line 5 – The carcass and soul eventually returns to the earth. (ash tree is symbolic of the tree of life)
Line 6 – The piles of leaves that people rake up, then become symbolic of burial mounds.
