Ah

Bio:

My name is Duy Bui-Nguyen.
I'm a self taught outsider artist.
I use art and music as therapy.
I have been pursuing art since december of 2014.... Which is buried deep within pages below.

My process:

I often start with no intention.
My only goal is to attack the canvas with paint; by throwing it, spilling it, dripping it, smearing it with hands, knees, elbows, and everything in-between, until an image begins to appear in my mind's eye.

I will then try to coerce the image onto the canvas until I reach an interesting moment and usually take a photo to document the process.

However because that current state of the painting was never my intention, I will constantly transform it, having destroyed roughly 80% of my work through this process.

Objective:

My desire is to purge spontaneous
creativity on to the canvas and hope to capture something that might be meaningful, honest, intimate,
psychological, and vulnerable,
if not subliminal.

Goals:

As a full time starving artist who
chose poverty in order to pursue his ambition, my wish is to one day earn a living and be able to support myself with my arts.
